What is Salvation?
Salvation is the work of God upon the willing, believing, and repentant heart to restore the individual to a right relationship with Himself through accepting Jesus’ death on his/her behalf.

Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

1.  Hear the Gospel-Admit/Recognize one’s state of separation from God and sinfulness

2.  Believe the Gospel-The good news that God loves us.  That Christ became one of us, lived a sinless life, took upon himself the sins of all people and offers us reconciliation to God and eternal life through his death and resurrection.

3.  Repent-to be actively regretful for one’s sins.  To literally “turn around” so that one’s life leads toward God, goodness, and away from your sinful past, actions and behaviors.  You turn your back on your former way of life that was for yourself.

4.  Confess-publicly testify that you believe that Jesus is the Christ and that he is the son of the Living God.

Romans 10:8-10
8But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

5.  Be Baptized-the public marker and identification with Jesus Christ.  In the moment of baptism a spiritual event occurs.  The work of God in our lives and our faith in him is publicly verified through our obedience.
